Prosecutor: Woman Killed, Man Critically Injured In Union County Double-Shooting

A woman was killed and a man critically injured in a double-shooting in Union County earlier this week, authorities said.

Johanna Cordova-Salazar, 29, of Plainfield was fatally shot near Lee Place and South Second Street around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo said in a joint release with Plainfield Police Director Lisa Burgess.

A male victim, meanwhile, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for emergency treatment.

Neither victim is believed to have been the intended target in the shooting, authorities said.
